  1. Good video, people that are going into the Navy should probably watch this to help them understand that things can be different from what they expected

  2. I did janitorial work, as well, but only for the first few months until I hit E-4, since I went in as an E-3. I was prepared to do that kind of work, though, and I guess that's the difference between me and most enlistees. It wasn't such a huge shock for me because my uncle told me about the 'doing your time' kind of treatment, in which newbies do the work that no one wants to do but must be done (he was active duty for two contracts and now in reserve). I had a previous job, as a civilian, in which janitorial labor was one of my primary responsibilities. I didn't enjoy the random piece of poop lingering in the toilet because some douche bag didn't flush, but I dealt with it in my previous job so I had a mostly neutral reaction to the grunt work in the Navy.

I did all the sighing, groaning, and general bitching, while swabbing floors and removing paint chips from the walls, in civilian life. In the Navy, I had a very 'meh' outlook about it. Actual LS work is pretty tame, though, tbh. Lift boxes, put them here or there, stare at numbers on a computer screen, shuffle through papers, that kind of thing. I'm in the reserve right now, mostly because I realized what I really wanted to do in life, but decided not to completely separate from the military.

  3. Hey thanks for answering my question! Currently in a school and still getting used to the transition from bootcamp to a school. Everything is so different! Appreciate you making this video it helped a lot 🙂

  4. Hey man love your videos, for how long have u been in the navy and have u ever been on a ship deployed? i like the LS rate but my main goal in the navy is to travel

  5. How long is the LS active commitment? 4 or 5 years? After how many years can you change rates? If you had a choice between Seebee or LS what would you choose? If you married too.

  6. As a civilian, you will get jobs where you don't get great co-workers as well so it's basically the same out here. Obviously you do have the choice to quit the job, but if you are in for the experience or it's something you cannot afford , you have to suck it up and do your job. Hope things get better for you and keep up that positive outlook!

  7. I got the good location bad people. mayport is fucking beautiful but I cant stand the people I got stuck with. Sometimes I wish I got bad location and good people because at least we'll go through shitty life together.

  8. Yoon Im really concerned about this so I do hope you can answer my question, So I leave in January for the Navy and I was wondering wether Im on a ship or not does the Navy offer classes to take for college? Like do they offer courses that you can count as college credit?
