We Are Not Direct Selling and We Are Not MLM – – Mindvalley

In this week’s video, Eric answers the ultimate question: what do we call what we do? Some call it Direct Selling or Multi-Level Marketing (MLM). And some call it Network Marketing. Right now, we are confusing the world. The only way we can tell people what we do is by naming a certain company. “We’re like that company,” we say. We need to have a standard that describes the channel of distribution we represent.

So, what do we actually do? Ultimately, we sell products to consumers using word of mouth advertising. This is accomplished with three basic strategies. First, we personally go out and sell the products or services to consumers. Second, we build and expand a network of other distributors who do the same thing. And third, we apply leadership to that network to improve productivity of our network. That is what we do. So, how can we describe that in a term?

MLM is, in Eric’s opinion, a terrible term. All that the term describes is that you can get more than one level from network building. But it doesn’t talk about sales, leadership, or expanding the network. MLM only touches on one little aspect of the compensation plan. Direct Selling is also, in Eric’s opinion, a terrible term. It still only describes one piece of what we do. Yes, we take products and sell them directly to consumers, but so does the kid with the lemonade stand. Most of the world is involved in Direct Selling to some extent.

The best description is Network Marketing. Network Marketing perfectly covers how we are in the business of marketing products and services through a network of ever expanding and increasingly productive distributors using word of mouth advertising.
Eric realizes that this might be controversial, and some people might run away from defining us as Network Marketers. But we need to be proud of what we do and provide. Our entire profession and all of the companies represented in it need to say “Yes, I’m a part of Network Marketing. Yes, I’m proud of it, and for the average person with entrepreneurial dreams it is a better way.” The faster that happens, the faster the entire profession gets standardized around the world and we stop attacking each other by trying to differentiate what we are. We need to be proud to be Network Marketers. Proud of who we are and the quality of the products and services we provide.

So, spread the word. We are Network Marketers. Tell your friends and family, your company, your contacts, everyone. With shoulders back and chins up, let’s go tell the world that we have a better way.

  2. "Consuming the world" more like his own imagination. Have a look at this con artist, you can tell when he is lying, HIS LIPS ARE MOVING. Network Marketing is 'referral marketing' which means PYRAMID SELLING mostly with the word SCAM attached and the MLM industry, no matter what company is poison for most who sign up. Con artists, cheats and habitual liars thrive within its ranks and the slick parasite above is just another example. MLM manufactures NOTHING, it produces NOTHING, its promoters are parasites who exploit and live well from others. Its unfortunate that no statutes in criminal or civil law exist as all examples of its pond life, including the one above should be doing jail time for corporate deception and lies. MLM is POISON!

What we are IS MLM, a repugnant industry that boasts a 97-99% failure rate, 100% in some cases and not because people don't try, most MLM 'business opportunities are disguised pyramid selling with the word SCAM attached. Promoted by its top pond life, the above is of course included, he coaches from the side lines. Translation of MLM, ruthless sharks who feed on the unwary, the desperate and the slow witted, parasites on society who live well from others. This industry features habitual liars, cheats and con artists, they smile often, all the way to the bank, with your money which keeps them wealthy while you live on a pathetic hope of future success and an iconic life style which will not happen….EVER. Reality is a cruel master and it appears that Uncle Eric has been investigated for "unethical business practices" in his past, which sounds like FRAUD in layman terms. He has also been mentioned in various media reports, not in a flattering way, the usual claims of financial wrong doing, however nothing proven but, where there is smoke….Uncle Eric's bank account would be getting a little low due to the current pandemic, so if you feel the need to keep any of these vultures wealthy, sign up and you will certainly do so. They are all very clever and walk a fine line between legality and otherwise, most should be serving jail time for corporate fraud, deception and the criminal enticement of the dumb and brain dead among us! This industry and its 'marketing pros' who coach from its side lines are poison! Parasites who live well from others, don't be their next victim!

    Step 1. Learn and master direct response marketing

    Step 2. Recruit EXPERTS of your products industry

    Step 3. Create the marketing/sales funnels/Advertising for those experts

    Step 4. Sit back and watch the customers flood in

    Perfect example of leveraging not just PEOPLE but the internet and automation. Follow those steps and you are now a business OWNER not a day to day business OPERATOR that bugs family & friends.
