If you don't have to pay for it then its the best way to go. Even with insurance. I had to pay $1,100 to get my wisdom teeth pulled out.

They numb you so you won't feel shit while they pull em out

What if you have a horizontal-positioned wisdom tooth underneath the skin? I’ve consulted with 2 different civilian docs who recommend against removal because of a 90% of permanent nerve damage and possibly breaking of the jaw.

Better do it at first duty assignment not bootcamp. Bootcamp you suck everything up and get it done. Don't want to be recycled. Boot is not hard if you stay in the upper middle, but getting this will make you in the lower.
