  1. Exactly. It is the simillar issue like different understanding of the words. For example God. Two people can argue each other, if the God Exists or Not, but when you give them simple question: „ What is your definition of the word God?“ or „What does this word mean for you“? Mostly, they stay surprise "What is that of weird question?" But after that, they start realize, that they never think about it. They only defends the opinion at which they were trained in their family.
No matter who is beliver or who is not. Both of them must have some idea about subject of their arguement. Otherwise this argument can't has a sense.
Sorry for my English mistakes 🙂 Im from CZECH.

  2. This video does a great job providing a capsule description of how we eliminate choices by minimizing options for truth…inside our heads. Causes us to even question those things that make us secure. Thank you for sharing.

  3. Great video, but I wish you would give more subtle examples. The Machiavelli example (changing the question to: do I like Machiavelli) was too simplistic. I'm sure most people would agree that cognitive ease is more insidious than that. It's painfully tough to notice these things, so I wish you would construct more realistic examples! PLEASE HELP! Btw, great channel :))

  4. Thank you so much I've learned lot from your videos just want to say if you've listen to Robert Anton Wilson on not using (is) in your vocabulary so that you don't get caught up in the game of this is better than this is. interesting talk thanks again Peace

  5. Some feedback: I though this video was better than the previous videos I had watched, simply because of the summary at the end.
Btw – thank you for your channel! It's a wonderful idea and I'm finding it extremely beneficial.

  6. Can you please let me know how I can get your videos, translate them in other language and share them if it's possible. I think your videos are really informative and other nationalities are deserved to learn. I would greatly appreciate if you let me know how I can get your videos.

  7. On point, I tell my girlfriend often that the more knowledge you acquire and understand, the better you'll be able to discern what reality truly is. Your view of reality will be broader. I want to know as much as possible about the reality I exist in.

  8. You hit the nail on the head with this one. Being a convert to the LDS church I have already been doing what you suggested about researching all sides, but the fact that you have come to a different conclusion then I doesn't mean I'm going to dislike the video or even stop listening to what you have to say throughout the others. I bet there is a massive amount of things we would disagree on. At the same time though the reason I am watching them is because we agree on a ton of thoughts and ideas as well. More people need to learn to come to their own conclusions instead of copying and pasting what others tell them. I really enjoy your videos and I watch a new one right when I wake up to start my day. Keep up the hard work.

  9. Very, very interesting video.
I was used to refer to the "confirmation bias" as a logical fallacy called "loaded question": the answer is "loaded" into the question itself, like the sentence you proposed does.
Perhaps the confirmation bias is a kind of this logical fallacy, at least I think so. Do you?

A brief research about logical fallacies will explain what I mean, since I do not want to make advertisements 🙂

Kind regards from the best place in the whole world you can live, Friuli-Venezia Giulia (but only the eastern part, on the border with Slovenia 😉 ) !

  10. want to talk about societally induced conditioning, I notice how this guy mocks 2 different Christian faiths, yet doesn't touch Islam, or Judaism, or any other religion where mockery is frowned upon…total LEFTIST DRIVEL …I myself am not religious, but I think this guy is definitely picking easy targets, and completely discredits his self… Not that it matters, just kind of helps me evaluate the inherent prejudicial nature of all religiously centered cultures….We live in an age where one group perceived as a disadvantaged minority is subconsciously permitted to slight and undermine the faith of another when they see as being tolerated by the standards set by society….SO THIS GUY BAD MOUTHING Mormons and Catholics is assuredly of no impartial scientific mind and is just another youtube fraud and quack, and if he really does have a legitimate degree which I am highly dubious of….then it certainly reflects the imminent peril of our flawed educational system, that permits allows Marxist rhetoric to parade as science….psychology this is not. Good day. 🙂

  11. In regards to Endowment effect, I'd say George Carlin discovered it way before Daniel Kahneman:

"Somebody else's shit is on the dresser. Have you noticed that their stuff is shit and your shit is stuff? God! And you say, "Get that shit off of there and let me put my stuff down!"

  12. Oops! You just wrote Con Man near a religious leader’s name… that is disrespectful, no matter your religious view, even if you’re just trying to prove a point. I was following you because of your objectiveness, but felt a bit let down at this one ?, I’m unsubscribing.

  13. Kind of meta: I felt irritated by the colloquial but technically incorrect "I'm usually never disappointed" at 0:20, at which time I felt an impulse to stop watching. I laughed when I realized that was precisely the point you were making.
