  1. VIDEO SUMMARY:

-The amount of information available to use is doubling at dizzying speeds. But how we absorb/use it is flat lining. Information Fatigue Syndrome.

-The education system is outdated and not suitable for our ever changing and advancing world.

If there's one skill to master in the 21st century, it's your ability to learn rapidly.

-Our minds are being fried by the constant dopamine releasing notifications bombarding us hundreds of times a day.

-Success is hidden in your daily habits. Create your habits and your habits will create you.

-The most successful people have a NOT TO DO list, as well as a TO DO list.

The TOP of your NOT TO DO list should be NOT checking your phone for the FIRST HOUR of the day, because it rewires your brain for distraction and reaction.

-You have focus muscles and distraction muscles. Most people's distraction muscles are WAY over developed because of being a slave to their phone, including impulsively picking it up upon waking.

-You only need one bad text/email/call to negatively affect your mood for the rest of your day. It will take the focus of YOU and YOUR GOALS and place it on an external, outside factor.

-“Your inbox is nothing but a convenient organisational system for other people's agenda for your life”

-Jim starts his morning writing down 3 things he wants to accomplish personally that day, and 3 things professionally and doesn't check his phone until at least 1 of those is done.

-Begin with the end in mind: What has to happen for you to feel like “I crushed it today” at the end of your day?

-Reading is to your mind what exercise is to your body. It's an incredible workout.

-The most important thing is to keep the most important thing the most important thing.

-Don't outsource everything to your phone. How many phone numbers can you recite? Try memorising a few. Flex your memory muscles more often instead of using your phone for everything.

-Your “lack of time” has nothing to do with time management, but priority management. What trivial things are you prioritising without even realising it? How much wasted time are you really spending on your phone?

  2. This is so true. I live rurally and the best part of my day is when I wake up and go outside and sit on my back porch and it’s like I become absorbed in the natural beauty of nature. My mind is almost without thought except for the observations. The wind blowing the trees sounds like waves on a beach. It’s almost like an out of body experience. To support your information about technology overload, I am challenged with epilepsy. I can not spend excessive time in front of a computer screen. It starts to cause agitation and irritability after about 10 minutes and prolonging it leads to seizures. I was fortunate enough to have a neighbor who unfortunately had a car wreck and suffered brain damage. She too, had issues with digital media and she was going to school to become a nurse. The online work required made it very difficult. I do spend some leisurely time on my iPad, which the light emitted doesn’t have the same effect but too much and I get exhausted, unmotivated and depressed. I love to work outside. The more I do, the more I do. Creativity feeds on creativity. The best use of media for me is to use it as a reference tool. I learned how to jump start my car, do lawnmower things, but at the beginning of my day, it’s the musical vibrations of nature that I listen to. I swear I know when spring is truly here, regardless of the date. I have a sensation at the base of my spine and it travels upward. I then know the sap has shot up into the trees and the new growth will soon start. The physical closeness to trees increases this sensation, which feels very pleasant. Because media is not set with any boundaries, we must define them. I have x time a day to use technology and x best time of day. What felt devastating to me was my husband abandoned me suddenly, with no notice. It was an abusive relationship. He works in IT. Him leaving was absolutely the best thing that ever happened. He took every computer and peripherals. I ended up finding out the abuse was more than I was aware of. So, the distraction of this puts our brains into an unconscious like state. My lifestyle changed in several areas. My health, happiness, motivation and heightened awareness was the trade off and it was definitely worth having an outside force somehow step in and remove his presence. His presence and too much contact, literally will cause seizures. My brain is healing though. Live each moment as if it were your last because it actually could be. So, sharing this information right now is a form of giving and if it was the last moments of my life, I would go in peace because I shared this and hopefully touched or inspired or simply informed someone. I really don’t like interruptions from unnecessary calls. I use it like we lived when we had answering machines. I check messages periodically. I’m horrible at checking emails. My weakness is being absorbed in too much information, which leads me off track, and my direction gets lost. Thank you so much for supporting and encouraging what we all need to monitor.

  3. There are indigo kids being born totally primed for this culture, these times. They're ready to do wonders and see things in a different way.
But the teaching of these, high IQ highly intuitive and sensitive beings is being conducted by gammas and deltas, to create a homogene workforce. No room for individualism, range of abilities, it's torture for these kids.
And as they zone out, the waste, the disaffection, as opposed to inspiration and enthusiasm, is what pollutes our culture, society, and system of education. The educators never put themselves under scrutiny, preferring to label them 'problem kids' 'antisocial',

  4. "You've all read the book good to great": "you say no to good so you can say yes to great".
What a horrible summary of a book that says almost something completely different.
Judging the book by its title: 101.

  5. "we're all guilty of this" not really. I don't post stupid things on social media. I research about outer space on youtube. I LEARN. don't you EVER try to generalize me, you idiot.

  6. J Paul Getty in "How To Be Rich" was asked by the biographer if he could go back and change anything about the past, what would it be? His answer was: I would spend far less time on small projects, and much more on big projects… because in the end, it takes about the same amount of time to do either one. Keep the most important thing, the most important thing.

  7. Unfortunately some people's day DEPENDS on messages/alerts to know if they have an appt or not, if someone is running late or not… if u have to bring something or not… The only way this works is if you dont need that sleep and wake up an extra 1 hour before you want to get your day started per usual… night owls wont like this. Also some people are better at setting aside "distractions" than others so everyone is different.
