During a BRUTAL study at Harvard in the 1950s, Dr. Curt Richter placed both domesticated and wild rats in a pool of water to test how long they survive by swimming around before they gave up.

The difference between the results of the domesticated and wild rates was astonishing. The domesticated rats could swim around for 40-60 hours on average, but the wild rats, on average would give up and sink to their death after 15 minutes. They were the same breed of rat, the only difference was one group was domesticated and one wild.

They came to the conclusion the deaths were more phycological than physical. They gave up mentally, not physically.

In further experiments with the same breed of wild rats, they tried something different: they put them in the water, but right before they gave up due to exhaustion, the researchers would take them out, hold them for a little while, dry them off, let them rest for a few minutes – and put them back in for a second round.

How long do you think they lasted this time?

Remember – they had just swam until failure only a few short minutes ago… They were saved by the researchers before certain death – they had GIVEN UP ON LIFE…

How long do you think they lasted? Another 15 minutes? 10 minutes? 5 minutes?

No! On average they lasted 40-60 hours!

The same as the domesticated group. That’s not an error.

From giving up after 15 minutes… they were then able to go 40-60 HOURS!

The conclusion drawn was that since the rats BELIEVED that they would eventually be rescued, they could push their bodies past what they previously THOUGHT of as impossible.

Before they gave up HOPE after 15 minutes… This time they had HOPE… so they KEPT GOING!

In the summary of the study it says: “A phenomenon of “sudden death” has been described that occurs in man, rats, and many other animals apparently as a result of hopelessness”

SUDDEN DEATH occurs when we LOSE HOPE! WE DIE INSIDE when we lose hope.
If you don’t BELIEVE you are capable… you are NOT CAPABLE.
If you DO BELIEVE you are capable – ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

If you believe the negative voices within and around you that say you CAN’T – you CAN’T and you WON’T

If you connect with the winner that IS INSIDE YOU and BELIEVE YOU CAN – it’s only a matter of time until YOU DO!

I will leave you with this thought:

If HOPE can cause exhausted rats to swim for that long, how different would your life be if you started BELIEVING IN YOURSELF and having FAITH you will achieve WHATEVER IT IS you wish to achieve?

NEVER FORGET what you’re capable of.

NEVER FORGET why you’re here.

  1. I think it's weird that experiments like this have gotten such a bad rep. "Experiments nobody should approve of…" why not? Obviously when harming animals is involved, you should be careful and as respectful as possible, but when it's for a good cause and properly planned out it should be allowed. I mean we literally butcher and eat most animals, burn forests and modify mosquito genetics but letting some rats drown to advance our understanding somehow crosses a line?

    Anyway, good video xD

  2. Key note is that the ones that believed still died after 60 hours. Belief will get you much farther, but it won't let you do ANYTHING. Intelligence resources and luck are the things that will allow you to do anything, but poor belief will still neuter all of that.

  4. in this analogy who are the researchers (god, the government, society structure) and why is it that we as rats think its acceptable to be forced to swim till drowning for any amount of time.

  5. I dislike how the Narrator prefers perseverance versus a quick departure. And there in lies the problem. The major religions teach self preservation at all costs. (because without this the bondage of Man can only be furthered) The Wild rats (nature) have a mechanism to give up early so that might be reincarnated into a better life while the Domesticated rats knowing only the World believe that this life in the body of theirs they know born the womb is all there is. Here the Wild rats are in a better psychological state then their domesticated counterparts and I only wish I knew the secret to early self termination without the use of a gun, or some assisted non-natural violent death. This should be admired not condemned. If everyone had the propensity to commit suicide at will (and many more did) for the first minor grievance experienced, the world would be a better place. And the Keepers of that World would ensure that a more complimentary Goldilocks zone might be realized for all who dwell upon, above or even within Tera Forma.

  6. I took a completely different message from these experiments than you did. All these rats died. The ones with false hope just died tired.
Accepting that we are wild creatures on this planet makes us better ones.

  7. When Carnegie found out that he had cancer, he stopped believing in the best. You live in hope until your brain decides that you are in a hopeless situation. You can't do anything about it.

    This experiment has another explanation.

What you are doing is false science.

  8. 0:35 – "Believe in yourself"…
    Appealing, but satanic.
And deceiving. When truth and lies are mixed together, the recipe of satan is at work.
    The rat lesson is misinterpreted:
    – they had HOPE the second time, yes, that's TRUE;
    – the hope was not in THEMSELVES (as they immediately understood that by themselves would never be able to get out of the jar), but in the ones who have power over them and rescuing them the first time, GAVE THEM HOPE (hope that they are, in fact, GOOD, which is false)… So the "faith in themselves" is a LIE.

Read the Bible! Discover the truly TRUTH, not the mingled ones. Get discernment. Get the real hope in the ONE which is LOVE. Our Creator and our Redeemer. Escape!

And never do what those men do. They crave 'science', to self rising, as satan does.

  9. This video is very optimistic, while I agree with it, you should also think about how this can be used against you.this is how politicians or people in power use this to get you to side with them for years and years and years even though they never produce any results.

  10. drown a rat in lava for 40 to 60 hours and see if they drown. nature will always believe in itself more than any life can ever do. nature does not need life to be free, nature want's to get rid of humans because we want to get rid of nature! so how long have hunter gatherers lasted just by helping themselves?! they don't need fancy tech to be real. we destroy mankind because we lost hope in planet earth.

  11. Please tell me the rats were rescued in the end! Or those rats got false hope, and I cannot belive someone would let those tiny living things drown, please someone tell me, where they fine in the end? did the researchers rescue them?

  12. The rats believed they would eventually be rescued and they were.

Some of us are never rescued and are left to tread water and suffer, in those instances it’s better to give up.
