among all ted talks, this one is the best.
More people have been pulled out of poverty at the expense of the working middle class. Private banking policies shift the money being created from the lower 80% the richest 20%. So as more money supply expands for everyone, a higher % of the Money supply continues to be siphoned to the top. It is designed to be that way. It grows monopolies, allows private owners of limited natural resources, and gives private corporations power over the people and needs of society as a whole.
Public banking gives the profits back to the community. It sets community and environmental needs as priority. Money being created is owned by the citizens instead of private shareholders of banks and monopolies. Entire cities can combine resources and efforts to accomplish any objective by issuing the money to facilitate the creation of goods and services to succeed.
If we had a system like this for a century, then quality, respect, collective efforts, and democracy would be far ahead of where it is now thanks to greedy capitalism. It has played a part and can still. . But not as the main system that drives humanity.
Forget about the contributions of trade unions and governmental regulations. Neglect tax heavens problems, lobbying, natural resources exploitation, psycho-social risks? Historically, hasn't capitalism been built based on human exploitation (slavery)? Such issues are problems are very often absent from those “thinkers/talkers” who have a romantic relationship with capitalism 🙂 But hé, that's “ok”.

Capitalism literally cannot live forever. Like us, it has a time to die.
Increase in IQ rate doesn't mean becoming advanced in materialism. It actually means to becomes more conscious of our ourselves. Seeing total reality means seeing that there are four real problems(Birth, Old-age, Disease and Death), which nobody can eradicate on material activities. It can done by becomes conscious of our nature, our true self!
We are not living in most peaceful time, people are fighting for basic things which is everyone's right. Living harmony with nature, see what industrialization has done to this world. Pollution and creation of unnecessary necessities. Our challenges are not new, they are common and same for everyone. Repeated Birth, Old-age, disease and death. Because businesses can not find solutions for these problems, they dont consider it as real problems.
Everyone who is reading this comment, please think for a moment if we need happiness or we need these so called material luxuries which are futile in nature.
