Eckhart Tolle is widely recognized as one of the most original and inspiring spiritual teachers of our time. He travels and teaches throughout the world.

Eckhart is not aligned with any particular religion or tradition, but excludes none. His profound yet simple and practical teachings have helped thousands of people find inner peace, healing and greater fulfillment in their lives. At the core of his teachings lies the transformation of individual and collective human consciousness – a global spiritual awakening.

Eckhart Tolle is the author of The Power of Now, a #1 New York Times Bestseller, which has been translated into 32 languages and become one of the most influential spiritual books of our time.

In his most recent book, A New Earth, he shows how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world.

  1. science is good for keeping us alive and healthy, knowing and consciousness like eckhart preaches is good for our minds and keeping it somewhat balanced mentally

  2. To talk about "knowing" and then say science is "materialistc" (whatever that means) and therefore not able to grasp consciousness, or is "misleading" … I love the early Tolle Teachings. They have a lot of wisdom and make things clear, but this video does not make sense.

  3. Great talk. Thanks for posting! Just a comment, if I may. In my opinion, the distinction between science and mysticism (or any dogmatic belief system) is that science is supposed to be "falseable", which means that any scientific model can be proved wrong and therefore replaced by a better one. This gives science an advantage of being constantly evolving.

  4. so eckhart needs to use the word "awaring" instead of "awareness", because it's not a noun. great insight mr. russell…
you are not the thinking mind, you are the awaring!

  5. Peter Russell is expressing his Opinion as the way consciousness should be approached. It may very well work for him, but I think it will confuse those who are seeking. Consciousness is fine, It helps seekers to grasp the understanding and let them go when they are no longer needed. "The Tao that can be named is not the Tao." I always keep that in mind when thoughts arises and I express them to others. I enjoy the silence where words/linear thoughts are not present.

  6. this reminds me the Tao Te Ching: "One who knows does not speak. One who speaks does not know". It happens all the time, and even now as I write: the one who speaks within us (or outside) is the mind. And mind doesn't know, mind only tries to translate and then begin to parrot what is untranslatable.Because the whole "void" of "awareing" is in the right brain and the words are the tools of the left brain (the video "Stroke of Insight" makes this clear).Nevertheless sublation shall take its place

  7. You know through the use of knowledge itself, through words. It's just thinking. Thinking there is a you that knows is all thinking including the "you" as you know yourself is a thought. You interpret everything through that filter that has been built up through input from society, education, potentially DNA, culture, indoctrination, and potentially the thoughts of mankind since the beginning. You can't start as a fiction and understand truth, reality or whatever you want to call it. Something dead cannot capture life.
