On the off chance that Tyson sees these comments. I went to the kennedy space center last week to see a rocket launch which has been my dream since I was 3. While visiting the center I went to the hall of heroes and they challenged us to think who our hero is. I just wanted you to know, that you are my hero. You inspire me to put in the effort. To not let the haters bring you down. I'm 17, I've been working full time for over a year now so that I can earn money in the hopes to graduate college with a bachelor's in mechanical engineering and a minor in astrophysics without student debt. And your talks and quotes and motivational speeches move me to keep on trying and pushing myself every day. Thank you. I'm going to keep posting this in everything of yours that inspires me. Not to receive a response but because I hope you see this so you can know you changed at least one person's life

Great video but shut off the fucking music. Who needs to hear that horrible melodramatic music when I’m trying to listen to what this great man has to say. Shut off the music! I could only get halfway through this video because the music was making me crazy.
The dramatic music added to this talk obscures it. I stopped listening to it less than half way through because of the music and went to closed caption and no sound.. What the world needs today is a music eliminator app that strips the music from talks like this. And I'm a life long musician saying this. It seems that people who mix or remix these kind of talks think the music is more important than what is being said and feel free to drown it out or change the feel.

Tyson inadvertently makes a good argument against the stifling political correctness of today which leads to censorship of speech that goes far beyond preventing discrimination. I like when he says that he wants to hear what people really think, so that he knows how to navigate that. That is the true attitude that deals with discrimination, not the navel-gazing fear of micro-aggressions, censorship of speech misleadingly marketed at stopping hate, and attempt to cleanse people from having any kind of negative experiences in life. His speech also has a good reminder of how much worse it was back in the day, and how much progress has really been made. I just had to make that point.
