  1. Your message of providing certainty, clarity and simplicity, to not ignore peoples' concerns and to help everyone find a way forward is what I am going to apply to my quest of mitigating climate change. Thank you Darren!

  2. "Bored" … I call that "Quaranteen Sanity". Think "Family Time", "Planning", "Reflection", "Rejuvanation" (sp ?), or for your team to enroll in Insane Productivity or other useful training.

  3. "A hero; an ordinary person put into an extraordinary situation who steps up and takes action."
Really hit me in the gut! In a good way, I can tell you.
Thank you for this great message Darren!

  4. Hah!! This message was EXACTLY what I needed to hear…and now, to pass forward! I never realized the extent to which family and friends sought my positive outlook, before this current situation. I kept hearing these gloomy reports and before simply reacting, I am trying to fit or maybe reframe the information…looking for more clues…how does one conquer or overcome this situation? I honestly had no wise answer to the questions I was being asked. Consequently, I kept my mouth shut! When you mentioned the "sharpening the saw" analogy, that proverbial light bulb came on!! I have never been one to succumb to "fear", even when courage meant, "do it afraid!" Now I feel like I can honestly spread hope and renewed confidence to "my team".

  5. Thank you so much Darren for this wonderful video and your invaluable leadership in these uncertain times. You're right, it's time to step up and be a shining example. It's time to grow through this adversity together. 🙂

  6. What a talk! Thank you for this! I'll use your video with my English students (I'm an English as Second Language private tutor in Brazil) 🙂

  7. I watched your video when I was down 10 days ago . I employ 300 + Employees and thanks to this video it made me be the leader I need to be for my staff. Since seeing this video I took charge, made it happen and our company has increased production !!!!! =)

  8. Daren, with your permission, I'd REALLY like to provide your video with the captions in English and the translation to Portuguese. How could we do this? I'd really like to send this message to friends in Brazil, but most people don't have this level of fluency in English to understand your message here without translation and people NEED to hear this. I'd like to write an article (on Facebook, Medium) as a direct translation of what you're saying (with links to this video) and maybe make the subtitles for the video, with your permission.

  9. I watched all of this. Not because I was inspired but because I was horrified. Not because you or your "followers" are bad people and this is not "ad hominum". This about our priorities – and how we see them is very telling.

There was not a single thing on how those in business leaders could reach out to the most vulnerable. Not-for-profits already do the heavy lifting. Instead, your focus is on taking this time to "sharpen your axe" so that you can rush out of this crisis, chopping competition away. The virus would have already done away with those who are weak, old and a drain on healthcare and welfare, so you'll have a clear run.

Just before this happened, the climate crisis was the existential threat facing our species. It is the unbridled pursuit of "growth" – unbalanced, resource depleting and socially fragmenting – that led to the climate crisis. If I have learnt anything from this video, it is how far we still have to go.

  10. Saw you on an ad please shut the fuck up please shut the fuck up please shut the fuck up please shut the fuck up please shut the fuck up please shut the fuck up please shut the fuck up please shut the fuck up please shut the fuck up

  11. Thanks again to Darren’s Enlightenment on leadership for this Covid 19 period, that helps me big time to lead my associates in right direction!

  12. Great advice, thank you! And I find it's funny when you say " …employees, they are hurting, a lot of them are forced to stay at home with their children.." I actually really enjoy staying at home with mine.

  13. Your insight about leading a team as a family is inspiring. During COVID, I made sure to regularly connect with my team and reassuring their hard work will meet success, as their boss I should always make sure that they're not only doing the business for the company but also for themselves. Hope to see more awesome content! 🙂
