If you’re feeling anxious or fearful during the coronavirus pandemic, you’re not alone. Offering hope and understanding, author Elizabeth Gilbert reflects on how to stay present, accept grief when it comes and trust in the strength of the human spirit. “Resilience is our shared genetic inheritance,” she says. (This virtual conversation is part of the TED Connects series, hosted by head of TED Chris Anderson and head of curation Helen Walters. Recorded April 2, 2020)

  1. Thank you so much for reading the letter to yourself! Wow. It was so powerful. This whole thing was great. Love never gives unsolicited advice. I need to hear this. I try to fix everything and everyone and I just need to be there for them. Wow

  2. OMG, this talk is so vapid and trite. Elizabeth Gilbert has OBVIOUSLY SUFFERED SO MUCH in her lifetime and has so much to offer in a crisis. UGH. Good thing I didn't have to pay for this; I'd want my money back.

  3. I am like you..this is the opportunity to do confrontation with our selves and know what you really want not by miming the other…group effect and make accountable our passivity like living our elderly in these awful houses..I am sorry but the world became too much into selfishness… It's time to wake up and manage your time to distinguish between your wants and your needs…and give more time to needy and people who live alone starting by our parents and grand parents… By

  4. Finding this now, coming from the UK where we are unfortunately now in a 3rd lockdown, I wish I had found this sooner. I will definitely be sharing this with others. Thank you xx

  5. I’m first watching this on November 19, 2021 and everything Elizabeth is saying is so relevant today. This video is resonating with me so much. It means even more to me now than had I had watched this when it first took place. ???✨?

  6. I first saw this brilliant interview almost two years ago. Everything Liz said then is still current. Covid may not be as scary it was but we're still in the marathon she predicted. Please let's have mercy on ourselves and others no matter if we're pro or anti vax and Democrats or Republicans. I pray for a more United States of America once the worst is over.
