  2. You can't say that, as almost all of us are following goals set by ourselves.

As long as we are not sure of why we are born, there is no point in saying "wasting life" .

If you can lead a life that doesn't make you a debtor of any order, you are done.

Life is as simple as that.

  3. 101 guide to goal-setting and personal productivity, despite the semantic games of consciousness/industriousness/orderliness. Basically, the man says that the success depends on 1. whether you're dumb on not (depends on genes), 2. your hard work/motivation (which also partially depends on genes). Stark contrast to other speakers on this channel that say that you can change your genes by your thoughts (delusional bs).

  4. Lots of gullible fools thanking the famous doctor for his "truth bombs", but I wonder how many of his "patients" have scored real progress in the long run beyond their comments of support. Unlike animals, which function on impulse humans have something called perception of self. If all you do is to beat over your head to become "somebody" then what do you actually tell yourself really by relentlessly pursuing goals? Probably that you are unworthy unless others validate your existence and success.
The stepping stone of any so-called "progress" of human existence is self love or self acceptance. Actually self love and self acceptance is everything there is. Any progress that comes out of is a bonus. On paper Dr. Peterson's ideas seem sound but let's see how they pan out in the long run not only for individuals but for generations. Time will tell how many young males that follow him to the letter will become the "successful achievers" they aim to be. Let's not forget that the world is in the state it is mainly because of the "successful achiever" mentality. Look no further than Donald Trump and the whole western pyramid of thought that Dr. Peterson subscribes to. Slow down. Start loving yourself. Any small step is a victory.
Don't beat yourself over where you should be or what you should achieve. Don't compare yourself to others. Don't compete!!! You can only be a failure if you accept to play the game society lays out for you. If you don't play the game, you can't loose. Build your own maps of values. Don't expect a man that talks like a machine gun to bring miracles into your life.
And for God's sake STOP WATCHING YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOURSELF !!!
There's nothing to achieve in this life! You're going to die!!!
    Be here now!
    Start there!

  5. This is why I hate the lottery. When Dr. Peterson lays out the groundwork to help you succeed, but they don't want that, they just want that payoff without work. Guess what? Easy come, easy go.

  6. Wow, it's like this guy knows me EXTREMELY well and is talking right to me. Both scary and empowering at the same time. I also like how he talks. It's like tough love.

  7. Nice. But if you spend your days trying to do worthwhile things, for you and others, then time won't be wasted. In the old hippy days (!!) people talked about getting your life together, travel, think about what you want to do with your life at a young age, not get to 50 (with a trail of debts / marriages / divorces / alimony payments etc etc., then think 'What have I done with my life?' Too late then.
