  1. Pretty much every time I see a "study finds," it's unnuanced nonsense like this. I'd like to do something similar with nutrition and other topics in the future. If this is something you'd like to see more of, leave a like on the video as feedback. Thank you! ?

  2. I've never heard a more condescending, self righteous video (stopped at three minutes) that hasn't presented a single fucking fact. Who broke their arms patting themselves on the back writing this pile of shite? I unsubscribed for this nonsense.

  3. it was just a study.. who cares who paid for it. It was just saying they interviewed some people and the ones who made more money were happier but that's not a conclusion to fit every scenario and they never claimed it was – especially as a resolution to domestic violence like your intro implied in detail. The part you got right is "who gives a shit?"

  4. You have no idea how sad, depressed and anxious you become when you are poor, unaccomplished. You cant afford your own place and you friends and siblings make much more than you, the have house and good life style and they start to unintentionally feel disconnected to you because your poor and unaccomplished. This has sever health consequences. Feeling less is the worst feeling you have

  5. Hi, FightMediocrity!

    Thank you

  6. There is a huge misconception about the amount of money to happiness ratio. Many people who pursue it, or a more providing career, is not always related to make more, to have more and to equal it with happiness. It is more a pursuit of a journey, of a self achievement journey, climbing the stairs, so it is more like a challenge and a self development journey which the results would be measured with the amount you are earning. So this kind of journey is like a feeling of fulfillment, because some people just gets bored with comfort and feel empty. In my opinion better being active doing something, whatever it is as it will keep you mind busy and healthy.

  7. Making a lot of money is not a guarantee of happiness, but not making enough to cover your basic expenses is an almost sure way to misery and making all the things you mentioned worse.

  8. There are so many things that I would love to do in life and are rapidly running out of time. The bottle neck that's stopping everything from happening is money. Anybody who says that a man like myself would not be happier, healthier, freer and more productive with much more money to make my limited time productive is a simpleton and delusional. Money is the problem and cure .

  9. I recently took a demotion out of management and a pay cut and nearly floated out of the room after the meeting, even being aware that pay cuts double-suck when you're not making tons of money in the first place. I go to that job and watch the managers & supervisors running around in there like they're expecting to get hit by sniper fire at any moment and think, "Am I glad to be free of that, or what? Thank you, God!"

  10. Happiness is also about food security, access to health care, adequate shelter, transportation, and free time. Finding inner peace isn't going to be nearly as easy if you have a hungry child who you can't afford to feed.

  11. A nice home is $1300/mo, $300mo for utilities. A nice car has a note of $300/mo insurance of $150/mo with about $100/mo in maintenance/gas. Food is $400/mo.
And a phone bill 80 and internet 60 with streaming services 20.
Health insurance for me is $150/mo
    Saving about 180.
Thats 3040/mo. So, 44k/yr is good enough to live comfortably in 90% of America.

  12. I'm happier making $25k or less a year than I was when I made over $50k a year. Money isn't everything. Plus, if you always want more you will never have enough. That goes for money, and well as most other things in life.

  13. Rewatching this video after some time. This is probably your best video. I just unliked it so I could give a like again (yeah, I know it was a waste of time, but I needed to do it anyway).

  14. The dollar amount is less important than whether you can meet basic needs of adequate shelter, food and safety. Minimalism has challenged people to look at those factors to reduce what society has told us we need to what we actually need. Still, if you’re struggling, working hard and barely making ends meet for the simplest needs, how happy will you be?

  15. The happiest people I know are the people that do what they love most. The richest people I know are also the people that do what they love most.

I do believe that if you do what you love, you will get very good at it and this will increase your value, hence you make more money.

If doing what you love in terms of work conflicts with doing what you love socially, you have some choices to make. Choosing the one that makes you richer isn't necessarily the one that makes you happier. The imbalance could make you more miserable on both fronts as with increased stress it suddenly isn't 'what you love' anymore.

  16. This is some nice sounding bullshit. Everything for the average person is gated by money. You can't have shelter without money, you can't eat without money, even if all you do is walk outside everyday for enjoyment, unless you're mooching off other people you need a form income for survival, health, and subsequently happiness. As an example, a woman who wants to have a family who can't afford diapers or food for a baby is going to be upset and unhappy for having to either sacrifice money meant for quality food, and utilities or choose to neglect the child. Forget 75k, everyone who makes 10k-20k a year constantly struggles to be "happy" unless they're lucky enough to have someone flip the bill. There's an old proverb that goes a wealthy man will buy one good expensive pair of boots that will last him a lifetime while the poor man will waste and spend way more having to replace his cheap boots. And this is getting worse every day. Food is more expensive, gas is more expensive, bills are more expensive. Nice sounding bullshit from someone who's disconnected from the common person.
