Eckhart Tolle is a spiritual teacher and author, born in Germany and educated at the Universities of London and Cambridge. At the age of 29 a profound inner transformation radically changed the course of his life. He devoted the next several years to understanding, integrating, and deepening that transformation. With his international bestsellers, The Power of Now and A New Earth—translated into over 52 languages—he has introduced millions to the joy and freedom of living life in the present moment. The New York Times has described him as “the most popular spiritual author in the United States”, and Watkins Review has named him “the most spiritually influential person in the world.”

Eckhart’s profound, yet simple teachings have helped countless people around the globe experience a state of vibrantly alive inner peace in their daily lives. His teachings focus on awakening consciousness, which transcends ego and discursive thinking, and can be seen as the next step in human evolution. In the awakened state of presence, we discover what Eckhart describes as our essential identity—who we are beneath the surface—and its power for transforming our selves and our world.

  1. This is my third time listening and commenting. I am learning this concept little by little. I have learned not to comment on negative commentary… I just sort of block by imagining Charlie Brown listening to his teacher talk, the voice was always muffled and the words were not enunciated. I am learning to rise above all the negative chatter that comes in from others as well as my own intrusive thoughts. Thank you so much Eckhart you have saved me from much unhappiness and have helped me to go around and over all the obstacles life can place in the way. ???

  2. Most humans don't use their mind. They are at the mercy of the mind.
They don't do heartbeat. Heartbeat just happens to them!
They mistake their thinking for being.
Spiritual / conscious awakening is seeing thoughts arise without being identified with them.
    Thanks Eckhart. ?????????

  3. Ego is always in the state of insufficiency. This world isn't designed to make you happy. It's designed to challenge and awaken you.
    Thanks Eckhart. ?????????

  4. I do believe we can choose happiness every day. It's not somewhere we arrive. But we can be happy in this life (moments) and appreciate the challenges for the clarity and empowerment. My quiet time in nature allows so much happiness to show up. ☺ ??

  5. the reason why worldly things don't work as a solution is 1. every time you experience them they give you less reward and 2. because you get less reward you eventually get so little reward that the energy you get from it is less than the energy you burn for doing it
